Early Ogston Family Tree (circa 1200 AD)

The image below contains the Ogston Family Tree as it was believed to appear in the late 1800's. This particular tree contains many branches and eventually leads back to the early 1200's with Symon De Hogeston from Morayshire, Scotland. As you can see the Ogston family name has changed with different spelling variations over the decades and centuries. I also suspect that some of the names within this tree that are listed as d.s.p (meaning no children) are not 100% accurate. Further records on some of the Ogston family members in the same locations show that they may have had multiple children and continued their families on further lines. More research is needed though and records can be found online via various Ancestry websites (Ancestry, MyHeritage, etc) and also Scotlands People. Hopefully this will help other people who are researching their Ogston family history and family tree.

This family tree and much more information can be found in the 'Supplement to the Genealogical History of the Families of Ogston' which can be read online for free at The National Library of Scotland here.
